During lunch, my sweet daughter and I were talking about going to see one of those outdoor "living nativity" productions later this week. We decided to spend part of the day doing our own living nativity to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. First I was the shepherd and she was the angel (see how terrified I was until she said "fear not, I'm bringing good news").
Then she was the shepherd and I was the offscreen angel in the video below. Of course, I didn't stick too closely too the New Testament script. But I managed to shine the spotlight - if even for just one hour - on the Lord, rather than what's under the tree in the den.
"Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
