It finally happened. I'm a rock star. The following is an article that has been put in the paper, apparently, and on the church web site where I'll be playing this weekend.

January 11, 2009 — Chip Watts, a talented vocalist and song writer, will lead a free concert next Sunday evening at Rocky River Baptist Church.
The event, scheduled for Jan. 18 at 6 p.m., is part of "third sundays @ rocky river," a free monthly performance series, which returns after taking a break during the busy Christmas season.
All shows combine family entertainment with a spiritual message and are open to the public.
The Sanford resident has led contemporary worship bands at several churches and plans to perform a variety of songs, from old hymns to currently-popular worship songs, that reflect his life and experience as a Christian. Many will be his own compositions.
"The audience will be invited to sing along," he says. "And, hopefully, they'll enjoy a laugh or two as I reflect on God's kindness and mercy in my life."
Watts will be joined for some numbers by Greg Burriss, pastor of Rocky River Baptist Church, who performed as a teenager in bands with the concert headliner.
Burriss calls Watts one of the "funniest people I've ever met" and looks forward to being reunited with his friend on stage.
"Chip has blessed many lives through his music, including mine," says Burriss. "His entire life is a testimony to his deep relationship with God, and that's reflected in his music."
Rocky River Baptist Church meets at 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, about three miles north of Siler City. Directions and information about the performance series are available at 3SunLive.com.
