Chip has been digging through the video vault again.
Several friends have recently mentioned missing Hunter, our friend who has gone on to be with Jesus. This video is from a concert at Watauga Christian Center in 1991 or so. Hunter is singing one of the many songs she wrote, “Sing O Daughter of Zion”. This was always a joyful song when it was performed. When Melody and I sang at Hunter’s funeral (was it two years ago?), we sang two or three of Hunter’s original songs and this was one of them. We were accompanied only by my guitar, but even so and even then, it was joyful, happy song.
If you know of friends of Hunter’s who would enjoy seeing this, please direct them to the blog. Perhaps some of us can also share memories of Hunter and I’ll invite Hunter’s sister to view the posts as well.
Sing, O Daughter of Zion
Shout aloud, O Israel
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart
O Daughter of Jerusalem
The Lord has taken away
Your punishment
He has turned back your enemies
You will never again fear harm
The Lord Your God is with you
He is mighty to save
He will delight in you
And will quiet you with His love

Thank you so much for posting that, Chip! I have lots of fond memories of Hunter. We sang together for a couple of years, and we had so much fun in practice! Remember the song "The River is Here"? Jenny did an Irish-sounding intro on the oboe and Hunter taught me how to do an Irish jig, so we always did our little dance routine in practice, but never dared in church. That is just what came to mind, but I have other stories, too!
wow, again, Chip! so many great memories and more people from the worship team in this one.
I love and miss Hunter's sweet voice!
Thanks for sharing this and please, keep them coming!
