For Melody's birthday I'm sharing a quickly recorded version of a song I re-wrote for her. It was originally done by a Jesus Music group from the 70s called Moment Of Truth. Their version was much more mellow, but the lyrics were a little lame.
Here are my lyrics:
She's the kind of a woman...
It's hard to explain,
but everything she does
whispers His name.
She leads me to Jesus.
I can't quite say how.
But one thing I do know
is that I'm happier now.
And everytime I look into
her gentle eyes
I see the glow
that made me love her then,
you know,
I still can see it there.
At night when I get down to pray
I ask the Lord,
"Give me one more day to love her".
I say, "Teach me how to love her".
She's the kind of a woman...
She's making me strong.
And when I'm beside her
I'm where I belong.
You see, she leads me to Jesus.
I can't quite say how.
But one thing I do know
Is I'm happier, happier,
happier, happier now.
And everytime I look into
our children's eyes
I see the glow
that made me love her then,
you know,
I still can see it there.
At night when I get down to pray
I ask the Lord,
"Give me one more day to love her".
I pray, "Teach me how to love her".
She's the kind of a woman...
It's hard to explain.
But everything she does
whispers His name.
She leads me to Jesus.
She leads me to Jesus.
She leads me to Jesus.
She leads me to Jesus
and I'm happier now.
Happy Birthday and Happy Valentine's Day, Melody.
I love you.
