I had a busy weekend with the church band and my voice is so worn and tired I sound like Tennessee Ernie Ford (or Junior Brown for a more contemporary reference).  My problem was the monitor mix.  I couldn't hear myself well enough so I compensated by singing more loudly.  
Thursday night we had a two hour band rehearsal.  Sunday morning I sang and played in three services.  Then Sunday night I sang and played in an extended praise and worship time.  The result is that my vocal chords are swollen, thus vibrating at a slower rate and that means I'm now singing low bass.  I sound pretty hoarse today.  
Guitar-wise I did fairly well, though my left-hand fingers were really hurting by the last service.  My biggest blooper: I was suposed to be one of the primary instruments on a song called "For This Cause".  I got my music turned around and started playing page two while the other instrumentalists were on page one with totally different chords.  I was humbled... thank You, Lord.
I have a month to recuperate as I'm only on the schedule once a month at present.
