O.K. - This is one of those posts only my Mom and three of the guys in this video will enjoy. I wrote this song - "Gotta Light" - when I was sixteen or so. This is a very old video of Greg, Calix and Don (and a couple of guys I don't know) jamming through a loose version of my song after I had moved back to Boone in the late '80s.
The chord progression is the same as the verses to "Hotel California" by the Eagles which was a big song shortly before I wrote my song. Whoops! I ripped off the Eagles.
Also, Greg and Calix had to re-write a few lines to correct my Biblical errors (for instance, I had Jesus growing up in Jerusalem, not Nazareth).
It was always a great song to jam on and "rock out" with back in the days when gas was less than a dollar a gallon and I was cruising around town in my dark green 1972 Mercury Capri, hanging out with my friends and learning to follow Jesus.
