You Are So Beautiful

My 15-month old son has been sick for the last couple of days. He had a fever of just over 103 degrees. I was up with him during the nights; taking his temperature, giving him medicine, letting him fall asleep in my arms…

Thankfully, he has now fully recovered. This evening I was sitting on the floor with my guitar, watching my boy run and play and laugh and just be himself again, and I started playing this old song. I don’t recall ever playing it before, but it flowed out as I watched him playing.

Tonight, before going to bed, I thought I’d record myself doing the song just so I’d have a copy of the chord pattern (otherwise I would never have remembered it). It turned out sounding alright so I thought I’d share it here. It captures a “still water moment” (Ps. 23) in my life.

I’m singing very softly here as my children were asleep with their doors open just at the top of the stairs from where I was playing.

God has been so good to me.
